Accommodation will be provided at the IISER Kolkata Guest Houses. Some participants will also be accommodated at a nearby hotel (5 minutes by car). In such cases, participants will be transported to and from IISER Kolkata.

Kolkata (also known as Calcutta), the Capital city of West Bengal, is very well connected to all major international cities by air. All international flights operate out of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, which is 11 kilometers to the north of the city. IISER Kolkata is located approximately 40 KM from the airport and can be reached via taxis, train and public buses. People travelling from within India can also utilize the country’s vast railway network. The Howrah railway station is approximately 60 KM away from IISER Kolkata. Kolkata is a vibrant and one of the oldest cities with many historic and modern tourist attractions such as The Victoria Memorial, Fort William, Howrah Bridge, Marble Palace, Eden Gardens (cricket stadium) and a variety of museums. IISER-Kolkata is located ~ 30 miles to the north of Kolkata. An excursion to historic and modern places of Kolkata and dinner-cum river cruise on the Ganges is planned for all the course participants.
